Growing up on the beaches of San Diego, California as well as in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains in New Mexico, I have an appreciation for diverse styles of life. A former track athlete at San Diego State University, and an avid roller skater, I prefer to spend quality time in the beautiful outdoors. My most recent adventure brought me to the picturesque Rocky Mountains of Western Colorado. My husband and 3 year old Golden Retriever keep me entertained and curious as to what adventure will come next. Whether I am getting lost in a bustling city or a wooded forest, I am immersed in the beauty of it all. I appreciate living in such a beautiful community. The journey of life has taken me to many beautiful places, but the most fulfilling place that I have landed in this wild world, is in a primary classroom. My long-term goal in education is not only to be an educational leader in my community, but a trusting friend and mentor to all of my students and co-workers. I am currently a 1st grade teacher at Gunnison Elementary School, and obtained my Masters Degree in Education from Western State Colorado University. My capstone project was focused on how movement, musical influence and the brain work hand in hand to benefit students' learning and retention. Incorporating my own musical skills of playing the violin and percussion not only entertains my students but aides in their learning. Throughout my website, you will begin to dig deeper into this harmonic style of learning. Enjoy!
